e END of e BEGINNING

Sorry all for the lack of updates. Life has been pretty mundane, daily bitching abt my boss isn't something i should write on my blog, although it is factual.

Latest update: I QUIT! Not verbally only, gave the letter already. Last day should be end of Nov. I have no job waiting for me. This is like the first time ever that i'm doing something as risky as this, but i hope all will turn out good and as planned.

After leaving, I can den put more time to settle the St John Stuff, like attending the camp, 40th anv etc. Will also be setting up a website to sell bags that are currently sold onli in Japan!!! Look out for that! Most prob will take up a part time job at cafes to get some F&B experience.

My plan to backpack Europe is still intact. Recently found 2 female friends who might be interested in joining me. GREAT!!! I hope everything turns out along the line. Still awaiting confirmation and listing out places i MUZ visit and wanna visit.

Nothing much to update otherwise but will be busy preparing all the SJAB stuff and Bag Selling in the next few weeks. ::: e END of e BEGINNING :::

Vivocity / Ah-Gong Hse

Gosh!!! Up till now still haben put up photos of Nuie's visit. Kekez... Will try to do it soon but in the meantime, hopefully u guys can get abit of updates on my weekend.

Saturday - Went to Vivocity after the St John meeting. It's freaking crowded coz everyone is rushing down to witness the buzz. And the TRAFFIC JAM started the moment u exit ECP to Keppel Rd. I've nv seen such a long Q of cars q-ing to get into a new shopping centre. If so many went Vivo, means other shopping centre sure vv empty lor...

Anyway, only 60% of the shops were opened. Official opening of Vivocity will be 1 Dec 2006. So pple who haben been there, take ur time, some shops are even slated to open onli in Jan 07. There's Topshop, Espirit, Warehouse, Bata, Watson, Guardian, Giant etc etc (Sounds like any ol' SC in Sg) I muz say there's nothing VV interesting, although the sheer interior size is enuf to win any others hands, feet, body down.

Vivo ain't big... it's GIGANTIC

Crikey... This croc is BIG

Some more interesting stuff were the small shop by Cold Storage that sells superbly fresh imported food stuff. So fresh and makes u salivate at the sight of it. *Beware saliva cannot touch computer*

Veges never looked more tasty... SO COLOURFUL!!!

And there was this apple which is so damn big, like half the size of my face. Couldn't take a comparison shot, but pls try to compare it with the pear (which appears puny) beside it and note that it costs a whooping $15.90 per apple!!! Imported from Japan, the land of rising prices.

HB verhemently refused to take photos for me AND the apples...

HB had Carls' Jr for the first time and complained that the burgers were too expensive before he saw the sheer size of it. With attempts to make the meal as neat as possible, we later proceeded to Toys 'r' Us to enjoy the megastore of childhood dreams.

Me & Geoffrey at the entrance (Zi pai one okie, got skill sia)

Hanbin with his eternal fascination with Transformers

After the crazy walking around, we unknowingly walked back to Habourfront and reached this BIG Superstore (its called Big) and bought a garment steamer + fan at discounted rate. Laziness prevails!!! I love at the garment steamer!!!

Sunday - My Ah-Gong is finally discharged and back home. After numerous pleas by my aunties and mum, my uncles decided to employ a personal maid to take care of my maternal grandfather. My Ah-Gong went home on Saturday and my uncles threw a homecoming party at his place on Sunday. My Ah-Gong so happy when he saw so many pple visiting him, makes him the Homecoming King...

Wiebber was at his Sunday's best, wore the 2 yrs old girl toddler OP crossback tee to visit my Ah-Gong too. Somehow, he knew he had to be gentle and went slowly to my grandfather's side to lick his fingers. Well, Wiebber's the STAR, as usual, which caused jealousy from my uncle's crazy Chihuahua ' Giogio'.

Mid-Autumn / Lantern / Mooncake Festival

I'm so sleepy in the office, i have to resort to bloggin to keep myself conscious. Hate Mondays, but anyway, this entry is abt last Friday so we shall get started.

Last friday was the Annual Mid Autumn Festival when the moon is at its biggest and brightest and where all families are supposed to unite. (Vv difficult these days due to globalisation), some pple call it the lantern festival (becoz the children would carry lanterns for fun) or the mooncake festival (the mooncake is a seasonal food, if u eat it at other times of the year, u're crazy or unorthodox).

For your information, I did none of wad i WAS supposed to do.

1. Admire the moon - Cannot make it. The moon retreated coz gahmen say muz avoid vigorous outdoor activity. So cannot see moon.
2. Reunion with family - Was with the St john family, meeting abt the rest of the year and with totally starving pple (aka stanley)
3. Carry lantern - Cannot coz i carry camera. (see photos below)
4. Eat mooncake - Vv expensive to buy the snow skin ones and i hate the traditional ones.

Below are photos, childish or not, but it shows the hardworking pple of St john celebrating the festival tgt.

After all the lanterns were lighted.

Charlotte & Teck Leong (Wedding 081006)

Ytd night went to The Legends @ Fort Canning Park to attend the wedding of my 2 St. John seniors. The ballroom was great, albeit the unchanging deco, and the wedding couple was so happy. I've nv seen Deliang smiled as happy as ytd and Charlotte was juz so radiant. Woo~ the wedding bliss!!!

Met up with the usual Singma (Singapore-Malaysia Competition) party consisting of shan sri, jeff (e QUACK doctor), bingxiang, peiying, huisian and, aiyah, many many more pple. Took some photos after the entire banquet. Here they are:

Ermz... no photos of the couple. They too busy so onli can use the official photographer. Hopefully they can send us the photos den i can post it again. So handsome and pretty sia. Wonder if I would be equally radiant on my wedding day. Anyway, from the photos, I can see my arms are getting fatter... Time to cut down on the snacks and work my body.

It's always nice meeting with the Singma pple coz we are all so lame, especially when high on red wine. =p

Godspeed

A few nites ago, i was taking a cab and noticed this taxi driver kept changing gear at the wrong time, resulting to super un-smooth ride. I was juz curious at wad speed he decides to change the gears when i saw the photo of Christ pasted over his speedometer!!! No wonder he dunnoe when to change gear and he drove really fast once we hit the highway!!!

First time i read the word 'Godspeed' was in Dan Brown's Angel and Demon, when the Vatican Guards were supposed to find this annihilator within a vv tight frame of time.

Junior Guard: 'Captain, how long do we have?'
Captain: 'Godspeed, Godspeed.'

So i interpreted that Godspeed = vv fast (like God).

Is the taxi driver praying for God to look after him on the road, no matter wad speed he goes? Or he decides to stop seeing the speedometer and move as God wants him to???

Maybe one day when the traffic police catches this pious taxi driver and charges him for speeding, taxi driver can say 'the signs only put number, but i moving at Godspeed. Gahmen nv say cannot wad.' o_O
