Last Day of 2006

Advanced Greetings: Happy 2007!!!

Keke....okie, today is the last yr of 2006. Ain't gonna say any emotional stuff. I've got rid of the old hag (according to her, it has been an unfortunate yr for her, coz she broke her leg, got into 2 car accidents and had me as an employee. looks like i'm pretty honoured.) and landed myself jobless. Hmm... Nv had this happened since i started working, I've always had the other job waiting for me, but well, there's always a first time.

I would so much lurve to bitch abt wad happened on the last week of my work, but well, wad's over is done with and it's time to move on without a unnecessary burden. GOOD START TO 2007!!!

I thank God for all the wonderful and good things that have happened. I pray that all who have done wrong will be forgiven. And I hope that those pple whom I have done wrong to, will forgive me as well.

Sometimes it's impt to have a faith, juz so that u can hope and release certain problems, worries and burdens to higher powers. It doesn't matter which faith u belong to, becoz, as long as u believe and it teaches u to do good, den u are taken care of.

I believe everything happens for a reason. I joined the company to learn distrust between man and goodness in friendship. Having wonderful colleagues allow you to temporarily breathe in otherwise tight situations. I have learnt and I will treasure every single lesson. I hope many will be the same. No matter wad happens, it is the journey that matters. The results could either be a bonus...or bullsh*t.

Wishlist for 2007:-
1. Get a job (ASAP)
2. Backpack Europe (I'm jio-ing, anybody?)
3. Get a good job when i'm back from EU
4. Save some money (every yr, it fails)
5. Hanbin to do something he likes
6. To have the foundation on my Punggol house done (okie, HDB pls hurry)
7. Less natural disaster ard the world
8. Pple to love pple
9. Decide on wad to study for a degree
10. WORLD PEACE!!!

If onli it were after GCE O'levels, den I would get 12 choices. But nevertheless, I hope all my friends' wishes will be fulfilled too!!!! Take care everybody, and have a good 2007 ahead!!! =)

I love my job, juz not the BOSS

I hate to turn my wonderful, wholesome blog into some complaints page. But on the account that I haben been seeing my friends much and need to update them with some b*tching, I shall write wadever i muster here.

So.... I was due for a long leave from 14 - 18 Dec'06, travelling to Thailand (photos i will update soon soon!) The day before 14th, was supposedly the only day i could meet my boss as she had also juz finished touring Japan. 'Unfortunately', I came down with diarrhea (actually had it since 12th dec) so I took MC in the fateful 13th Dec. She was vv angry with my apparent avoidance of her majesty and wanted to terminate my notice period when i came back from TH.

Fast Fwd to 20th Dec...
*I will refer to Her Majesty (since the son is a mother-proclaimed Prince) as JNR*

I reported to work as usual and after bouts of whispering to my colleague, JNR decided to talk to me during LUNCH TIME.

Started toking abt intergrity to company etc etc...blah blah blah... and finally went into the main topic of me providing a drawing for an architect in her absence. Story is: JNR was supposed to get back to the architect since eons ago, but as SHE was UNABLE to find the suitable drawing for him (amazing for someone with gigantic network in the industry), she left for Japan w/o getting back to the architect. Somehow, the architect called the office and requested that I sent him the drawing by that evening. (Note: JNR was still Japan skiing and not breaking her arm). So, on the account that I should help the company, i bloody exhuasted nearly all my poly contacts and called whoever i knew was still working in the archi (drafting line). Finally, through Alex, I got to Karen who decided to help me despite her already vv busy with her work. And I sent the details to the architect.

Accussation by JNR: I should have intergrity and initiative. I should have stepped out long ago with the drawing since I had it. (The fact is that i din)

After my explanation on that matter, u noe wad JNR did? Gave me a smirk say 'Oh, that's good. I juz thot that u always had the drawing but did not want to give me.' *smirk again.

I can tell u, at that point of time, I so wanted to slap her stupid face off her skull.

Okie, den we talked abt my last day of work in the company. I handed in my resignation 25 Oct and my notice was till 24 Nov. At that time, JNR requested that I stay becoz she had no found a replacement yet. On account that I have not found any job yet, I agreed to stay till end of the year. It was a verbal agreement that my last day will be 31st Dec.

Den on 20th Dec, JNR decided she cannot take me anymore, my existence in the office of traumatising her due to her compulsive and constant fear that I would steal some company information and sell it to the competitors. (Perhaps JNR had prior experience so she was fearful) So she started off by asking whether I still had a lot to do at work. Is she stupid? In all companies, all employees shouldn't be too busy once they resigned, becoz they are supposed to pass their duties for pple to follow up.

Me: 'No. Just tidying up the drawings to be converted (from hand drawn to .dwg) and the manual.'
JNR: ' I was just thinking whether you would like to leave earlier since u have not much to do already.'
Me: ' I'm ok. If the company wants me to leave earlier, I dun mind, provided the company pays me till end of the month.'
(Becoz the verbal agreement is till 31st Dec, so I stand by the agreement)
JNR: *shocked face* 'No Candice, I'm not gonna do that... ... ... ... I thot it was flexible.'

Now, someone, pls tell me abt wad is so flexible. I have already done my part and extended my notice as the company need pple, but the agreement had been set on 31st Dec. No flexibility about it, man.

Me: 'No, it's not flexible. We have agreed that my last day was 31st Dec and I believe you are a person who will honour your words. And I think it is not fair for me, juz becoz you would like to terminate my services.................'
JNR: 'No, no, i'm not terminating you. You resigned, remember.'
Me: 'Yes, I noe I resigned. (U stupid fool!) But you asking me to leave earlier than the notice is called terminated my service early. I juz think it's not very fair for me if you were to give me a sudden notice and pay me only until today.'
JNR: 'Oh, no lah... *Starting fake smile routine coz she realise i'm not taking her nonsense* The company is happy to have you here until 31st Dec.'

Den there she go again talking abt intergrity to your worplace, becoz the world is very small. One day, I might be her employee again or she might visit my restaurant where i'm a waitress *wad the f*ck is wrong with this person*

Me: 'Dun worry abt my intergrity, JNR. I know the world is round.'

Conclusion: JNR was damn buay song abt my attitude towards her becoz i am no longer a push-over. But she got no choice but to conclude that my last day is confirmed on the 31st Dec, Becoz she is supposed to be a 'Manager of Her Words'. She now is trying to think abt how to 'dui fu' me.

Countdown to 4 more full working days!!!

I do not want to name the company, becoz it is a good company. It's juz the manager here....

Gimmick Makeover

Okie okie.... It was a part gimmick, becoz when we recieved the call, it was from NetsRewards and apprently, we DID NOT win anything. It was part of their promotional exercise (read:routine) to do trial makeovers for potential customers to win them over to sign photogrpahy packages.

The stylist was not great. His sense of style....sucked. Like korean costume with chinese fan?!?!?! duh.... Anyway, the makeover artiste was good, vv friendly girl and understands colours very well. Photographers on the other hand were a tad amateur. Poses they asked us to strike were so.....unoriginal.

Alright, so here are the 2 FREE photos (out of 80, they took many so u'll be tempted to buy extras at extravagant prices). They might not be the best looking, but it reflects us the most.

The photo on the left is the only i managed to do the 'V'. They keep emphasizing we should be natural but they keep asking me to pose 'xiao nu ren' or sexy poses. This is ME! This den call natural hor. *Fake lashes rulex*

HSCS SJAB 40th Birthday Bash

Last saturday was Hai Sing St. John 40th Anniversary. Preparation was crazy, took many of us lots of contact hrs after camp meetings and in the past week. But all was paid off. The birthday bash went GREAT!!!

Although not all of the guests turned up due to last minute commitments, we still had a good number of pple and most importantly, we all enjoyed. The prep, balloons, fashion show drove us all on a crazy and hectic schedule before the event started, the heat was turned onto some but i hope everyone understood it was for the good of making the event successful at the end of the day.

Here's a collage to share:-

Thank you each and every member, alumni, teacher, officer who made this event a success. May the next 10 years be even more happening for Hai Sing Catholic Corps!!!
