NDP 2006 Preview

Keke...yet another postdated entry. But come to think of it, most people's entries are postdated too. Who really have the luxury to blog as and when they like. Yeah yeah... I juz like to think i'm not lagging. Whaha....

So as promised, here's some of the photos of the Pre-parade. For those who are (lucky enuf) to go for the REAL NDP parade, beware! spoilers ahead... =P

We started walking from Kallang MRT at abt 4.30pm and planned to meet Hao and Ham at the stadium. Keke, fortunately, HB managed to spot Ham at the traffic junction juz after the MRT and we all headed to the stadium tgt. Along the way, these 2 lucky guys managed to change tix from green sector to BLUE. So we all sat tgt. Onli knew this week that Xinying was also there at the preview, and was sitting at the green sector. It's not amazing we din see her, the crowd is red and crazy. If onli she called me, den more pple to scream tgt. Haha... FUN! Anyway, this yr seem to be a lucky yr for us, not ez to get parade tix and there we were 5 pple out of a clique of 8, present in the same arena.

The preshow was great, really warmed up the crowd by using the clapper-or-clappo stick and the Kallang Wave...It'll be many many years later for us to do the 'kallang' wave again. Till the new National Stadium is built. Perhaps den we will host some SEA games or smt. Seeing Ian Thorpe in flesh in Singapore will always juz be a dream, since we will nv have enuf space and land to host the Olympics...hahaha

The parade started at abt 6 plus, with the contingent and Members of Cabinet filing in, all these with the intermittent performance by the Idols. (Got Vasantham star, Anugerrah Skrin and Fei Chang Superstar - Kelvin Tan) Infantry and the rest of the contingent jogged into the square. Shui was part of the infantry 2006 formation. Tried spotting him, but to no avail, of coz. It's like trying to see a grasshopper in a sea of tall grass. There was also this funny guy who apprently was too tall....... head + helmet sticking out of the contingent.... whahaha....

The best and climax of the night was defintely the fireworks show. SOO GOOOOD!!! The most magnificent of so many years. It's truly a tribute to the old National Stadium. It will be going off in a bang. Multiple colours, firewoks that twirl in the air after exploding...etc etc...... I would love to post the video that we took, wonderful myraid of colours... if onli someone taught me how.
